WORLD'S FIRST ORIGINS

Target Marine produces the only certified organic fertilized female monosex Coho Salmon eggs derived from a broodstock originally collected from the Kitimat River in British Columbia, Canada, home of the world’s largest and fastest growing Coho Salmon. The result is a strain of Coho Salmon prized for their bright silver skin and rich and firm dark red flesh, offering farmers many advantages, including earlier eggs, earlier harvests and larger fish at harvest.

BROODSTOCK FACILITY

Target Marine is committed to preserving our environment. Our holistic system optimizes the productivity and fitness of the aquatic ecosystem, and our broodstock are reared in environmentally controlled culture systems supplied by pristine ground water from the Tetrahedron Mountains. Target Marine Coho Salmon can be reared in traditional saltwater net pen systems or in complete freshwater systems for the entire life cycle (including recirculating aquaculture systems).

SELECTIVE BREEDING

Three decades of selective breeding has produced a strain of Coho Salmon optimized for growth rate, disease resistance, flesh color, and body conformation. All-season egg production offers farmers multiple benefits, including year-long inputs, larger smolt size potential, and increased revenues and decreased costs resulting from twice as much roe for salmon caviar production and no precocious maturation of males.
